Privacy Policy

Black Planet Magazine · Last updated 6 June 2026

This policy covers Black Planet Magazine (mag.blackplanet.se), our online magazine. It explains the limited data we process when you read it. For the wider Black Planet services, including events, the mobile app, the My Black Planet portal, ticketing and membership, see our main privacy policy, which governs those.

Who is responsible

Black Planet, represented by Reza Iranpour Mobarakeh. Postal address: Duvholmsgränd 16, Skärholmen, 127 41, Sweden. For privacy questions, email us at mira@blackplanet.se.

What we collect

The magazine is a public, read-only publication. You can read it without an account, and we do not ask you for any personal information.

  • Aggregate analytics. We use our own self-hosted analytics (Umami) to understand how the magazine is read: page views, the page you arrived from, approximate country, and device or browser type. It runs without cookies and does not collect information that identifies you personally or track you across other sites.
  • Server and delivery logs. As with any website, our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically process technical data such as IP address, browser type and timestamps in order to serve pages and images and keep the service secure. These logs are short-lived and used only for operation and security.

What we do not do

  • We do not require accounts or logins to read the magazine.
  • We do not run advertising or third-party tracking pixels.
  • We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Comments

If you leave a comment, we store the comment text, the optional name or handle you provide (pseudonyms are fine; no real name and no account are required), the time, and your IP address. The IP is used only to prevent spam and abuse and is never shown publicly. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a submission is human; it is privacy-friendly and does not track you across other sites.

Every comment is reviewed before it appears. You can ask us to remove a comment at any time, or use the report link beside it, by emailing mira@blackplanet.se.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address (and the time and IP, for abuse prevention) so we can send you the monthly magazine. We don’t use it for anything else. You can unsubscribe from any issue, or ask us to remove you at mira@blackplanet.se.

Cookies

The magazine does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics is configured to run without cookies.

Who processes data for us

We rely on a small set of providers to run the magazine:

  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Bunny.net — image content-delivery network.
  • Supabase — database for our editorial content and staff accounts (not reader data).
  • Umami — analytics, self-hosted on our own infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot/spam protection on the comment form.

International transfers

Some providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and we prefer EU-hosted options where available.

How long we keep data

We keep aggregate analytics for as long as it is useful for understanding readership. Technical logs are retained only briefly for operation and security, then deleted or rotated by our providers.

Children

The magazine is intended for an adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability, where applicable. Because we collect almost no personal data from readers, several of these rights will have little to act on, but you can contact us to exercise them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the magazine evolves, and will change the “last updated” date above when we do.
